The Hurting

Jesus Is in Your Boat

Luke 8:22–23
The disciples weren’t alone in the storm. Jesus was with them—even though He appeared to be asleep. Sometimes God seems silent, but His silence is never His absence. The same Jesus who was in the boat with the disciples is with you today.
God’s presence is greater than your panic.

Lord, when I can’t see what You’re doing, help me trust that You are still with me.

Whenever anxiety rises today, simply pray, “Jesus, thank You for being in my boat.”
Tuesday

Hold On to His Promise

Luke 8:24–25
Before the storm ever started, Jesus had already said, “Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” His promise didn’t change when the storm arrived. God’s Word is more dependable than your circumstances.
Faith remembers what fear forgets.

Father, help me trust Your promises instead of my feelings.

Write down one promise from Scripture that speaks to your current situation and read it several times throughout the day.
Wednesday

Jesus Brings Peace

Philippians 4:7
Jesus didn’t simply calm the wind; He calmed the waves. He has a way of bringing peace that goes beyond human understanding. Sometimes He calms the storm, and sometimes He calms His child.
Peace is not found in the absence of trouble but in the presence of Christ.

Take five quiet minutes today to stop, breathe deeply, and thank God for His peace before making any major decision.

Ask yourself: “Am I becoming a deeper disciple or just a busier Christian?”
Thursday

Fear God More Than Your Circumstances

Psalm 111:10
The disciples’ greatest lesson wasn’t about the storm—it was about who Jesus is. Their fear shifted from the storm to awe of God’s power. The more we stand in awe of God, the less we are controlled by the fears around us.
A healthy fear of God drives out unhealthy fears of life.

Lord, help me see how great You are so that my problems become smaller in comparison.

Make a list of three ways God has shown His power and faithfulness in your life. Thank Him for each one.
Friday

Keep Your Eyes on the Lord

Hebrews 13:5; Romans 8:35–39
Like Daniel in the lions’ den, don’t fix your eyes on the lions—fix them on the Lord. Storms will come, but nothing can separate you from the love of Jesus. He has conquered sin, death, and the grave, and He walks with you through every trial.
Faith doesn’t deny the storm—it chooses to focus on the Savior.

Jesus, help me keep my eyes on You today instead of on the storms surrounding me.

Every time a worry comes to mind today, immediately replace it by thanking Jesus for one specific blessing and reminding yourself, “Nothing can separate me from the love of Christ.”
