What Happens when You Stop Trying

What happens when you stop trying? Jobs don't get done. Jobs are lost, homework doesn't get finished, relationships or families break apart and our God is saddened by those who fall away from Him. Today we will take a look at some people that were leaving in Jerusalem that did stop trying and what the prophet Haggai had to say about it. Don't give up. A failure is not someone who falls; it's someone who falls and doesn't get back up! Great thing about being a Christ follower is that our dad, our Heavenly Father is right there by our side to help us Finish the race!

Silver and Gold (Which is Better?)

Silver Rule or Golden Rule? Silver Rule - "Do not do to others what you would not wish done to yourself." Golden Rule - "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." As we sit here we are actually following the Silver Rule, we are doing nothing to others that would be hurtful but at the same time we are doing nothing to fulfill the demands of the Golden Rule. The Golden Rule demands relentless action. Jesus' call is not just for action but for sacrificial service. This teaching inspires our best efforts to emulate Jesus because He did live it out.

Let's Celebrate Our Freedom

What does freedom mean to you? Our concepts of freedom are quite different depending upon where we are in life and what's taking place. In the life of our nation there have been different times when freedom was at stake. Even in the midst of the problems we face as a nation and the question marks of whether or not terrorists will attack again--I want you to understand that a greater freedom has been brought at an even higher price. It was purchased by Jesus Christ when He died on the cross.
